Heather Roth Johnson

Art, storytelling, and you, oh my!

Hi, I’m Heather Roth Johnson—a North Carolina native with a passport full of stories and a heart full of purpose. Following God's call as an ELCA missionary, I’ve lived and served across three continents, including the beautiful island of Madagascar. These days, I call Minnesota home.

I wear a lot of hats—and I wear them with joy.

My family hat: I’m married to Scott, proud mom to Noah (24), and I carry the deep love and memory of our son Jacob. I’m also the devoted daughter of my incredible, aging mom, Billie.

My fun hat: I’m a storyteller, public speaker, workshop leader, and the voice behind storyboardingchurch.com—where I write about the sacred art of story and community.

My work hat: I serve as Pastor of Faith Formation at Bethlehem Lutheran Church – Twin Cities in Minneapolis, where I get to live out my passion for connecting people across generations through faith and storytelling.

Life is rich, wild, and full of grace—and I’m here for all of it.
